Hello Gotham city, I just finished reading chapter 6 of In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez. Ohh boy was this chapter juicy and tense with all kinds of action going on around it. No one has ever disrespected El Gran Jefe the way that Minerva did. That girls can not run away from conflicts. We see in Chapter 6 how conflict seems to find Minerva at all times. Minerva is such an intelligent and loyal woman but she can be very foolish at times when it comes to controlling her emotions as we saw when Minerva ended up slapping the great, mighty, all powerful Trujillo. She slapped Trujillo because he was trying to come on to her while dancing and tried making a move on her as he degrades all the women he meets. Of course Minerva is not any ordinary woman and completely shuts off the Jefe when she delivered a slap across his face. On this chapter we can see the beginning of conflict about to begin for Minerva because she slapped Trujillo. This means here family can be murdered, she can be murdered, and all the awful things Trujillo can do to Minerva as punishment. We all know Trujillo will have his revenge against Minerva as stated by Minerva, "But el Jefe has other plans for me. A mind of her own, this little cibaena!" as Trujillo is giving an evil smirk, (Alvarez 101).
